Mental Health Guide

Scientifically proven methods and psychological tools for your everyday life, explained simply.

Overcoming Perfectionism

Perfectionism drives us to deliver flawless results, but often leads to stress, procrastination, and burnout. Letting it go doesn't mean losing quality, but regaining efficiency and mental health.

1. Questioning Standards

Ask yourself if your current standards are realistic and necessary. We often set the bar much higher for ourselves than for others.

2. The Pareto Principle (80/20 Rule)

Recognize that 80% of the result is often achieved with 20% of the effort. The remaining 20% to reach 'perfection' takes a disproportionate amount of energy.

3. Building Error Tolerance

Mistakes are an essential part of the learning process. Start by deliberately not doing small, insignificant things perfectly (Exposure Therapy).

4. Practicing Self-Compassion

Be gentle with yourself when things don't go as planned. A harsh inner critic only reinforces perfectionism.

5. Focus on the Process

Concentrate on the experience and the learning process of a task, rather than fixating solely on the flawless end result.
